If you are charged with a criminal offence and even if you are found not guilty, or the charges are withdrawn or stayed, you still have a criminal record.

A record of the fact that you were charged is kept, as well as your fingerprints and photographs and any other information that you have at the time of your arrest is kept on file.

This is also known as FPS. The FPS is attached to your name and will show up every time your name is checked by authorities.

To remove this, we can petition the arresting police force to destroy the information that they hold on you, and to remove your criminal record from the CPIC database. If you are interested in this service, please contact our office
